Doc10/Fred story
The 10th Sewer

"Doctor, would you mind explaining what we're doing in this
sewer?"

The Doctor waved his flashlight around. "I told you, Fred. We're
looking for Cybermen. Sewers are great places to find Cybermen."

Fred nodded. "I see. Would you mind explaining why we're looking
for Cybermen?"

The Doctor shrugged. "Why not?"

Fred opened his mouth to speak, and then closed it again and
thought for a moment. "I'm not really sure where to start. There are so many reasons to pick from."

"Name one."

Suddenly, half a dozen Cybermen walked out of the shadows and
surrounded them. The CyberLeader pointed its gun at the Doctor. "You are our prisoners."

The Doctor turned to Fred. "All right, I'll concede this one."

John Matthews sipped his coffee and looked at the morning paper.
"So, they're saying there are Cybermen in the sewers again."

Helen Matthews nibbled on a piece of toast. "Oh, they're always
saying that. Pass the sugar?"

"Doctor, where do you suppose they're taking us?"

"To their headquarters, of course."

"What happens there?"

"Oh, the usual sort of thing."

"Ah."

"Has the price of gold gone up?"

John flipped to a different section of the paper. "Yes."

"Surprise, surprise."

Fred looked around at the room full of complex machinery and
Cybermen. "I suppose this is their headquarters, then?"

The Doctor nodded. "Yes."

The CyberLeader walked up to the Doctor. "You have fallen into
our trap, Doctor."

"I haven't," the Doctor replied.

The CyberLeader paused and looked around. "Let me try this
again..."

"Did you see this?" John asked. "The Zenith managed to win a game
last night."

"That's nice," Helen replied.

"Your plan won't work," the Doctor said.

"I haven't even told you what it is," the CyberLeader replied.

"Doesn't matter. Whatever it is, it won't work."

The CyberLeader shook its finger in the Doctor's face. "That's
what you said last time, Doctor."

"Well?"

The CyberLeader thought for a moment, and turned to the other
Cybermen. "All right, pack everything up. We're leaving."

"What does the mayor have to say about the Cybermen in the sewer?"

"Um..." John flipped through the paper. "Ah! He says it can
only work to the city's advantage in the long run."

"Figures."

"That was a bit easy, wasn't it, Doctor?"

The Doctor unlocked the TARDIS. "If you say so." He opened the
TARDIS door. "All right, everybody out!" Three Cybermen walked out of the TARDIS. The Doctor glared at them. "I meant everybody, and that includes the Cybermats." Two more Cybermen and a dozen Cybermats emerged from the TARDIS. "That's only five. Where's the sixth?"

"Hiding from the robot dog," one of the Cybermen replied. "Wait here, I'll send him out."

"Thank you."

"Think nothing of it." The Doctor turned to Fred. "After you?"
